After 2 visits to the ER, I finally had my first hematologist meeting. She reviewed the tests that were done in the ER and ran a CBC. The doctor informed me, I would need a series of phlebotomies over the next several weeks.
This would get my HCT down to a normal range. In turn, my relentless chest pain (and other symptoms) due to thick, high volume and slow flowing blood should begin to ease.
